Job Title: Dairy Processing Operator
Job Description
The Dairy Processing Operator plays a key role in safely and efficiently operating sleeving and bottling equipment within a regulated food production environment. This position focuses on maintaining high-quality packaging standards, ensuring accurate date coding, and supporting continuous production flow by performing routine machine operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate dairy processing equipment to control milk temperatures, texture, and processing.
- Monitor the processing dials and equipment.
- Relieve other machine operators during machine downtime or job reassignment to help maintain departmental efficiency and production quality.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machines immediately when issues arise.
- Report to the assigned workstation on time and assist in setting up the work area at the start of the shift.
- Wear proper work attire and required protective gear in compliance with plant policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Perform all duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
- Adhere to quality and safety standards related to Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Wisconsin Department of Agriculture (WDA), and customer requirements.
- Conduct all work activities in compliance with company employee policies and guidelines.
- Make necessary adjustments to sleeving and packaging machines to ensure packaging is completed in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and departmental goals.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of machine operating experience within GMP environments.
- Experience with setting up machines for production runs.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on production machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a general production environment while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in food production.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
- Ability to comply with quality and safety standards related to HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA, and customer requirements.
- Strong attention to detail for monitoring packaging quality and verifying correct date codes.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to report to the workstation on time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a packaging machine operator working with sleeving and packaging processes.
- GMP experience preferred, with familiarity in working in regulated food production environments.
- Comfort working with automated bottling, sleeving, and filling equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding machine status and product quality.
- Willingness to assist other operators and support departmental efficiency as needed.
- Commitment to following company policies and maintaining a safe and clean work area.

Work Environment
This role is based in a GMP-regulated food production facility that operates multiple shifts. Openings are available on 1st shift (4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday) and 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday). The environment involves working around sleeving, bottling, and packaging machinery in a fast-paced production setting. Employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including wearing hair nets, beard nets as applicable, smocks, and steel-toe footwear. The work requires adherence to strict cleanliness, safety, and quality standards throughout the facility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
