Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with strong experience in automotive die casting to support our daily production activities and contribute to new product launches. This role involves troubleshooting production issues, attending daily production meetings, and addressing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concerns on the die cast side. Additionally, the engineer will play a crucial role in identifying and managing equipment for new product launches, preparing necessary documentation for corporate approval, and collaborating on tool design.
Responsibilities
- Support daily production by attending morning meetings to discuss previous day activities and address current issues.
- Troubleshoot downtime and cycle time issues to improve OEE on the die cast side.
- Assist in the new product launch by identifying necessary equipment and writing Statements of Work (SOW) for equipment procurement.
- Obtain vendor quotes, negotiate terms, and prepare documentation for corporate approvals.
- Manage new equipment installations and collaborate on tool design for new product launches.
- Ensure quality processes by understanding and interpreting CMM layouts and quality documents required for PMFEA.
Essential Skills
- High-pressure die casting experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret CMM layouts and understand quality documents.
- Experience in robot programming, PLC programming, and familiarity with CAD/CAM.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering function.
- Knowledge of die cast process and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS in a manufacturing-related field.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ergonomics.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects.
- CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, primarily in an office setting with visits to the production area as needed. The schedule may change at the discretion of the department manager. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, handling parts over 20 lbs., and requires specific vision abilities. The manufacturing environment includes elevated noise levels, high temperatures near ovens, and exposure to moving equipment and electrical shocks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
