Job Title: Production Lead
Job Description
The Production Lead oversees a production line or department on the manufacturing floor in a hands-on role. This position operates blending and pastry lines, supports packaging and machine operations, and ensures that production runs efficiently and safely. When supervisors are not on site, the Production Lead assumes responsibility for running the department and supporting the team to meet quality, safety, and productivity goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a production line or department on the manufacturing floor in a hands-on capacity.
- Operate blending and pastry lines, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to production standards.
- Support and perform machine operating tasks, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Coordinate and assist with packaging activities to maintain efficient product flow and meet production targets.
- Take responsibility for running the department when supervisors are out of the building, including making day-to-day operational decisions.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing, food production, and GMP standards.
- Guide and support production team members during the shift to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and safety on the production floor.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, GMP, or food production.
- Ability to operate and monitor production equipment, including blending and pastry lines.
- Strong understanding of production processes and basic food manufacturing practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to support and guide production staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Leadership experience specifically in food manufacturing.
- Familiarity with packaging operations in a production environment.
- Ability to step into higher-level responsibilities when supervisors are unavailable.

Work Environment
This role is based on the production floor in a manufacturing and food production environment. The position is scheduled on 3rd shift, typically between 7:00/8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. or 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., working Sunday through Friday with Saturday off and one additional day off during the week. There is also 1st and 2nd shift roles available. The work involves operating and monitoring production machinery, including blending and pastry lines, and working around packaging equipment in a busy, fast-paced setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
