This 1st shift welding role focuses on both MIG and TIG welding in a small, flexible shop environment. You will primarily perform MIG welding on mild steel and use TIG welding for stainless and aluminum work while reading and interpreting blueprints. The position offers an opportunity to own your welding booth, contribute to high-quality fabricated products, and work with a tight-knit team of welders and fabricators.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG welding, with a primary focus on mild steel components.
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum parts as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment to meet job specifications.
- Grind and finish welds as needed, approximately 20% of the time, to achieve clean and precise results.
- Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other welders and fabricators to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding booth and work area.
- Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and best practices during welding and fabrication.
- Work overtime when needed to meet production demands, including occasional Saturday work.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, especially on mild steel.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, including work on stainless steel and aluminum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Experience with fabrication processes in a welding shop environment.
- Skill in grinding and finishing welds to meet quality expectations.
- Ability to set up and operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Reliability and flexibility to work a consistent 1st shift schedule with overtime as needed.
- Degree or welding certification is a plus.
- Experience working in a smaller shop environment is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a non–climate-controlled environment.
- Willingness to manage your own welding booth and take ownership of the workspace.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a smaller, non–climate-controlled shop with a total of about nine employees, including three welders and three fabricators. You will have your own welding booth and are encouraged to make it your own. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to choose your own 8-hour schedule between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You can combine two 15-minute breaks to leave earlier if desired. Overtime is readily available, and most team members work around 50 hours per week. Saturday work is rare but may occur occasionally, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
