Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Job Description
This role oversees and coordinates all inbound and outbound shipments on the 2nd shift, ensuring sales orders ship on time and in full while maintaining accurate inventory and shipping metrics. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership for the shipping team and warehouse, drives process adherence and continuous improvement, and ensures strong communication between shifts and with other departments. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings proven supervisory experience in a shipping or receiving environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily shipping and receiving activities on the 2nd shift, ensuring accurate and timely movement of materials.
- Ensure sales orders and picking tickets are printed, prioritized, and distributed to the shipping department in a timely manner.
- Monitor the shipping schedule and take corrective actions to ensure all sales orders ship on time and in full.
- Effectively supervise shipping production teammates in a union facility, providing clear direction and support while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Lead the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new shipping teammates and ensure they receive proper training and orientation.
- Plan and manage team schedules, including assigning work, coordinating coverage, and adjusting staffing to meet production demands.
- Conduct teammate performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support professional development and cross-training opportunities.
- Establish and maintain cross-training within the shipping function so teammates can perform multiple roles as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement within the shipping department to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance.
- Lead and maintain 5S standards in the shipping area, ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organized, and visually controlled.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to communicate shipping status, inventory updates, and key shipping metrics.
Essential Skills
- Prior supervisor experience in a shipping or receiving environment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts and reach trucks.
- Hands-on experience with material handling, shipping, receiving, unloading, and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge and practical use of computerized ERP systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using RF scanners for shipping and receiving transactions.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in warehouse or logistics operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supervising teams in a manufacturing or metal production environment.
- Experience in logistics and inventory management within a warehouse setting.
- Previous experience implementing or sustaining 5S and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating between shifts and collaborating with other departments.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop teammates to build a versatile and cross-trained workforce.

Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position with core hours from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Overtime is currently voluntary but may be mandated when business needs require it.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sun Prairie, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
