Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Project Representative/Construction Observer for a multi-year lead service line replacement project at a water treatment plant. The projects will be located in Milwaukee and Racine, focusing on construction inspection for 'outside fence' projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform observation of construction personnel working on assigned areas of the construction site.
• Ensure construction work put in place matches construction plans.
• Identify deficiencies in constructed structures.
• Review contract terms and conditions.
• Ensure construction timelines, costs, and materials comply with contract terms and conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Review the work of junior staff.
• Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and any other related construction issues or risks related to their area of oversight.
• Prepare related reports, such as monthly progress reports.
• Maintain daily reports of construction activities.
• Communicate construction issues to project leadership.
• Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution.
• Communicate issue resolutions to construction staff and close the loop with project leadership when documented issues are resolved.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction observation, construction inspection, or construction management.
• Experience in water treatment or wastewater plant projects is preferred.
• Bachelors degree in related field is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
