The Multiphysics Computations Section at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking to hire a postdoctoral appointee for performing high-fidelity scale-resolving computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and reduced order modeling of turbulent and reacting flows relevant to advanced propulsion and power generation systems, such as gas turbines and detonation engines. The Applied Materials Division (AMD) at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking to hire a postdoctoral appointeee in the Separations and Bioprocessing group. This position will have two focus areas. One is to support an effort to recycle graphite from Li-ion batteries to produce graphene and graphite for reuse in batteries or other applications. The other focus will be on valorizing waste products from coal production including coal fines to produce graphite precursor materials. This separation will likely include processes such as froth flotation, gravity separation and leaching. We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible postdoctoral researcher to join the Applied Materials Division (AMD) at Argonne National Laboratory to develop advanced methods for in situ and operando characterization using the Advanced Photon Source (APS). This work will support critical material recovery and battery recycling initiatives. The successful candidate will help drive next-generation methods for in situ and operando characterization at the recently upgraded Advanced Photon Source (APS), expediting the development of critical material recovery and battery recycling strategies. The position will primarily be in collaboration with the new Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Research Facility (METALLIC) and the ReCell Advanced Battery Recycling Center to design, implement, and demonstrate synchrotron-based techniques to inform process development. The role requires a strong background in synchrotron characterization techniques, mainly three-dimensional imaging (microtomography and nanotransmission X-ray microscopy), as well as experience in diffraction and spectroscopy techniques. Candidates should be creative experimentalists capable of building custom apparatus beyond standard commercial tools for compatibility with synchrotron techniques for a variety of applied projects in material synthesis, manufacturing, and recovery. We seek a postdoctoral scientist with expertise in electrodeposition science and technology. Exposure to microelectronics applications is desirable, as is familiarity with progamming and interfacing hardware. Extensive experimental experience is essential. Argonne National Laboratory seeks a part-time Physician to provide high-quality, onsite occupational medical care for a diverse workforce of approximately 3,800 staff working with a variety of physical, chemical, biological, and radiological hazards. Technician II/III - Electronics

The Argonne Tandem Linear Accelerator System (ATLAS)-the world's first heavy-ion superconducting linear accelerator-has operated for more than four decades as a user facility advancing nuclear physics and its applications. ATLAS relies on robust utilities infrastructure, including AC electrical distribution, process water, and HVAC systems. Assistant Scientist - Data Driven and Autonomous Materials Discovery (CNM)

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the eBERlight group within the X-ray Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory. The selected candidate will lead the expansion of the protein expression platforms, currently utilizing E. coli and mammalian cell lines, to onboard other microbial systems (e.g., fungi), insect-cell (baculovirus) systems, plant-based expression (in planta), and cell free methods. Postdoctoral Appointee - Development of Multi-Platform Protein Expression Systems

The Accelerator Systems Division (ASD) provides best-in-class operation, maintenance and upgrade of the Advanced Photon Source accelerators and support users in doing outstanding science in a safe environment. The division is searching for a Group Leader to provide the necessary supervision and technical leadership for the Magnetic Devices Group of the Accelerator Systems Division at the Advanced Photon Source.
