A leading global education company partnered with CareerCircle to launch a new national sales team supporting a major account win. The client needed to hire across multiple specialized roles in twelve national territories simultaneously, and up against a fixed launch deadline. Powered by CareerCircle's established ecosystem of outreach channels and community partners, the engagement delivered 24 hires and an on-time launch, part of a partnership that has produced 100 hires to date.

The Challenge

The client had just won a major new account and needed to stand up a new national sales team to support it, fast.
The client was adding a dedicated team alongside its existing sales organization to serve the newly won account. The roles were strategically built as a career bridge between top individual-contributor sellers and future sales leadership, and required candidates who could navigate complex buying committees and influence enterprise-level institutional stakeholders.
The client needed to fill roles across multiple specialized positions, including higher-education executive sales specialists, family tech support, and customer success sales management, across twelve national territories (East, Central, and West) and 34 metro markets at once. To raise the stakes, the deadline was non-negotiable. Every day past the launch date meant a newly won account sitting unstaffed and unable to generate revenue, on an initiative the client's own leadership was watching closely.
The client didn't choose CareerCircle out of nowhere. They had first-hand proof of the volume, speed, and quality CareerCircle could deliver from previous direct sourcing engagements. That track record gave them the confidence to trust us in finding skilled talent for a critical initiative with no margin for error on timing.

Solutions

CareerCircle provided dedicated sourcing support that worked as a flexible extension of the client's recruiting team. Drawing on 225,000+ skilled candidates and 200+ community partner organizations, CareerCircle helped the client fill roles across every territory at once.
Coordinated National Sourcing and Hiring: CareerCircle managed sourcing and hiring spanning general and specialized sales roles, sales management, and customer success. Searches ran in parallel across all twelve territories and 34 metro markets rather than sequentially, all in one ecosystem, which protected the launch timeline.
Job-Ready Talent, Submitted Fast: CareerCircle handled candidate sourcing, initial screening, and submittals, tapping an established network of community partners to surface job-ready talent quickly. And because of the strength of the relationship, hiring managers scheduled interviews as soon as CareerCircle submitted candidates, with no lag in between. That speed, maintained across every territory, meant the client could move quickly without compromising on quality, scaling across a dozen simultaneous openings without adding internal headcount.
Career Fair Engagement to Expand the Pipeline: CareerCircle also gave the client the opportunity to participate in a virtual career fair, driving additional qualified applicants into the pipeline and strengthening reach across markets.

Outcomes

24 Hires Delivered for the Launch: CareerCircle powered candidate outreach and talent engagement efforts to help drive 24 hires across higher-education executive sales and customer success sales management roles.
Full National Coverage: Roles were filled simultaneously across twelve national territories and 34 metro markets.
Launch Hit On Time: The client's hard launch deadline was met, with hiring standards intact.
A Partnership That Keeps Delivering: This launch is part of a broader partnership that has produced 100 hires in the first 8 months of 2026.
"From the start, CareerCircle was a true partner in every sense. They took the time to really understand our roles, jumped into the process alongside us, and consistently delivered strong, quality candidates. They also gave us the opportunity to participate in a career job fair that helped drive even more applicants our way. This partnership was instrumental to the success of our direct sourcing solution — I'd highly recommend CareerCircle to any program looking for a dedicated, hands-on partner."

How Direct Sourcing Built a National Sales Team Across Twelve Territories

Last updated: September 2026
This is the second story in our Learning to Earning series, where our team interviews CareerCircle members who built new skills and landed new roles. Each story is unique, and while all outcomes are different, these conversations give insight into how some of our members succeeded and provide ideas for how other members can get the most out of our platform.
Chidebe Mbarie moved to the United States from Nigeria in 2025. His last job back home was running a fish farm. In September he joined Per Scholas, where he was introduced to Google Career Certificates. He passed both CompTIA A+ exams that December on his first attempt, finished the program in January, and kept studying while he looked for work. Today he is a Level 2 data center technician at Google.
This is his story, in his words.
*Answers in this interview have been edited for clarity and readability.

Before CareerCircle

What kind of work were you doing before you moved to the United States?
"Most of my job experiences were in Nigeria, because I moved to the United States last year. The last job I did was fish farming. Even though during that time I was a fish farmer, I always loved tech stuff, so I would use Microsoft Office to make some work easier for me and for other workers. Whenever I wasn't there, the other two staff members were still able to use what I created."
What was your job search like before you had a certificate?
"Saying my job search was difficult back then would be an understatement. It was nearly impossible for me to get a job. This is not to look down on certain jobs, but I applied for warehouse roles, including supervisor positions, and they told me they couldn't see that I had any computer experience. It really impacted me."
How were you feeling when you started training for a career in IT?
"I was nervous and quite unsure whether I was going to understand it, because I didn't really have IT experience before then. The basic knowledge I had was self-taught, from small at-home troubleshooting. The Google Career Certificate was my first real exposure to the field."

What He Did to Grow

Which certifications did you earn?
"I joined Per Scholas in September, and that was where I got introduced to Google Career Certificates. I took my CompTIA A+ exams, core one and core two, by December 19th of that same year, and I passed on the first try with flying colors. Through Google Career Certificates I also studied AI fundamentals, and a UX and UI certificate."
What was the training like compared to teaching yourself?
"The way they taught throughout the training was something I had never experienced before. Until then, I had always just read on my own and watched videos on YouTube. This was so detailed. It was a deep dive into the OSI model, Linux commands, and the core functions of components I thought only had basic functions."
Are you planning to keep learning?
"Yes, definitely. I'm still planning to go back and take more courses."

Using the CareerCircle Platform

What was your experience on the CareerCircle platform?
"It was very good. It gave me the opportunity to update my resume, and it was hassle-free to update my profile and make it more attractive to prospective employers. There were also always a lot of workshops and online webinars I could attend. My schedule meant I missed most of them, because I was busy studying, but I enjoyed the few I made it to."
Did you work with a CareerCircle recruiter along the way?
"No. I found out much later that I could talk to someone, but I didn't know at the time."

Getting the Job

Did anything change once the certificate and the A+ were on your resume?
"After I completed my career certificate program and passed my A+ exam, I started getting interviews. Of course, it didn't mean the job offers just started coming, but at least I was getting the opportunity to interview, and I loved that. Some of them I had to turn down, because the distance was too far, or we couldn't agree on pay."
How did the job at Google come about?
"I applied to Google several times, through CareerCircle and through Google directly.. I just kept applying to different locations, but largely through CareerCircle.
In the end, the height of it was when Google called. It started with an initial phone screen, then three different interviews, then the fit call. It was unbelievable, because I never thought I could be interviewing with Google in such a short period of time."
When did it start to feel real?
"Not until I got the fit call. It wasn't like an interview, it was just a chat with the hiring manager, and he was so nice, so kind, so humble. We ended up talking about my experience at Per Scholas and with the Google Career Certificate. That's when I knew this whole thing was going to be real. And here we are today."

After CareerCircle

What does your job involve day to day?
"The team is called Data Center Operations, and I'm a data center technician. My role is to ensure uptime of the data center. That includes maintaining the hardware, troubleshooting both hardware and software issues that come up, and maintaining the processes and platforms that are running, so there are no interruptions or disruptions in the operations of the data center. It's a pretty interesting role, because every day you get to do different things and work on different machines."
What did the offer mean for you financially?
"The offer was a huge increase. For a beginner, it was unbelievable. I had been taught to feel free to negotiate wages and benefits, but when the offer letter came, to be honest, I didn't see any need to negotiate, because everything had been taken into consideration. All the benefits, the bonus, the relocation allowance, everything was huge and good. I was very happy. I signed the offer letter immediately after I finished reading it."
What would you say to someone in the position you were in before?
"Fear is a dream killer. The only thing that can prevent you from achieving your dream is your mind. You have to train your mind to believe that it is possible. If it could happen to me, someone from Nigeria who didn't have much exposure to computers while I was in school, if I could come all this way and become a Google employee, it means you can do it too. So keep working, continue to upskill, and continue to work on your mind to believe that what you're doing is possible and very realistic. It will come. It's only a matter of time."
How would you describe CareerCircle?
"It's a must if you're seeking to upskill and succeed in your IT career."
Chidebe came to the United States with no formal IT experience, earned his certifications, and kept applying until the right role found him. We're excited to share our new Learning to Earning series on CareerCircle. These stories document interviews our team had with CareerCircle members who built new skills and landed new roles. After finishing a 16-week fellowship and earning two Google career certificates, she continued maximizing her job search by joining various boards. Four months after creating her CareerCircle profile, a recruiter found her and reached out about a role she had never applied for: a six-month contract with a nonprofit affordable housing organization in Berkeley, California. This eventually became a full-time position that her employer created based on her skills. Next month marks one year in the role for Phuong.
This is her story, in her words.
*Answers in this interview have been edited for clarity and readability.

Before CareerCircle

What kind of work were you doing before your career change?
"Prior to my work today as a facilities project analyst, I was an events professional. I worked on a lot of event production, curation, and management, especially in the festival setting. That was my niche prior to COVID."
Was there a point in your job search where you felt stuck or discouraged?
"Oh, absolutely. As a career changer, when COVID hit, my entire career was wiped out because I couldn't work at events anymore. I couldn't be in person. I had a really hard time trying to find the resources to help me navigate that change and adapt to those circumstances. But it pushed me to be resilient. I went out of my way to find those resources."
How did you approach starting over in a completely new field?
"When you go to college, the usual anticipation is to find your niche in a major, and then that's a career that you're developing for a majority of your life. But I strongly believe that life circumstances should not derail you from sticking to that singular niche. I think there's value in combining all of that to make your own unique professional branding, despite the circumstances. I realized that developing transferable skills and exploring other avenues was really important, just for the sake of survival."

How She Heard About CareerCircle

How did you first hear about CareerCircle?
"CareerCircle was introduced to me through my fellowship. I liked reading my email newsletters and seeing what they posted. We would get these notifications, like, oh yeah, here, check this out. And I thought, sure, I need a job."
What stood out to you about CareerCircle compared to other job boards?
"I appreciated that there was a job board, and that I could filter jobs based on the Google career certificate I had. Everyone's very aware of LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster.com, you name it. CareerCircle was really new to me, and it was a great additional resource to go to."

What She Did to Grow

Which certifications did you earn, and why those?
"What brought me to the Google Data Analytics career certificate was the fellowship. They offered people who wanted to transition into tech the chance to develop technical skills, whether in data analytics or digital marketing. They also provided Coursera courses for free, so I did data analytics through their track.
Additionally, I knew that the Google AI Essentials certificate that had recently been released was also free at the time, and I took that course as an opportunity to develop those skills. With AI being so ingrained into our work culture, as a means to adapt to current industry trends, the course made a lot of sense."
What is your approach to finding and using free resources?
"Whatever resource each opportunity presents to me, I will take the time to look through it, because you never know the benefits of it. So whoever I speak to, it's like, maximize your resources. You may not know much about this. You never know how it's going to benefit you. And who knows, it might benefit somebody else. We're dealing with a plethora of resources, and we need to help each other find whatever it takes to help that person achieve their professional goals."
Are you planning to earn more certifications?
"I would love to take more. There's the business intelligence one, and the Power BI one with Microsoft that I want to take."

Getting the Job

How did the recruiter find you?
"One of the recruiters who reached out to me found my resume on CareerCircle, and it wasn't even tied to a role I applied for. It was tied to a completely separate role. I thought it was a scam. So I directly asked her, hey, how did you find my resume? And we went on a Microsoft Teams meeting and she showed me the CRM software and how it was connected to CareerCircle. That led to the opportunity."
Did your Google certificate come up when you spoke with the recruiter?
"Surprisingly, I think that was the biggest indicator. I remember the recruiter mentioning that she did look for my resume, but the certificate was a really good way of filtering. That made me believe the certificate did benefit me in grabbing recruiters' attention."
What did the new job mean for you financially?
"I would say a huge wage increase. I'm hopeful that my story will help encourage people, especially during a really interesting time in the job market."

After CareerCircle

How did your six-month contract turn into a full-time role?
"Within three months of that contract, I was very honored that they started noticing my skills and they wanted to create the role for me. It was a three-month conversation of what kind of role would work for me. They also seemed impressed that I was continuously learning and upskilling. That started back in October 2025, so I'm hitting my one year next month. It's crazy how fast time flies.
What would you say to a job seeker who feels stuck right now?
"It's a matter of developing new strategies on how to get through the job search. Don't let standard societal norms get to you. Just focus on what you can acquire and what you can control. No matter the circumstance, you can create that opportunity for yourself to build your career. A lot of folks think that a job will help you develop that opportunity, and of course it will, but I see that as a situation you can't control, because that decision is made by a third party. So if people are looking to develop those skills and grow their career, find those opportunities outside of a traditional path."
How would you describe CareerCircle to a friend?
"It's the reason why I have my job today. I would say, hey, it's another job board that helps connect your certifications to these opportunities. Treat it as another resource for you to use to connect with people, just like how you do with Handshake, LinkedIn, and Indeed. Use CareerCircle as well, because it's new, but it's growing, and it has good opportunities."
