CareerCircle is a job board built around the skills people have, not just the degrees they hold. We average around 40K open roles on the platform with new ones added daily, plus recruiters who advocate for candidates and free training when a role calls for a credential you do not have yet.

Who is the CareerCircle job board for?

CareerCircle is for job seekers who want to be evaluated on their skills rather than on their career or education path. This includes veterans and transitioning service members, military spouses, individuals with disabilities, career switchers, and STARs,meaning people skilled through alternative routes such as certifications, training programs, and work experience rather than a four-year degree.

Is CareerCircle only for veterans and people with disabilities?

No. The CareerCircle job board is open to everyone. Certificate holders, career switchers, STARs, and skilled candidates from any community can create a profile and search for jobs.
That said, some employers do come to CareerCircle specifically to reach military talent and individuals with disabilities, which shapes our employer network. Roughly 1 in 6 members are part of the military community and 1 in 7 are individuals with disabilities, so employers wanting to attract employees from those communities come to us as a solution.
We focus on these communities because of what the data shows. The Bureau of Labor Statistics put 2025 unemployment for people with a disability at 8.3 percent, roughly double the 4.1 percent rate for people with no disability. The gap holds even among college degree holders age 25+, standing at 5.3 percent for those with a disability against 2.5 percent for those without one. While a bachelor's degree is beneficial to finding work, it does not fully close the employment gap for individuals with disabilities. That suggests many qualified people are still being screened out, and closing that gap is where we come in.

Why does CareerCircle focus on military talent if veteran unemployment is relatively low?

BLS reported veteran unemployment at 3.5 percent in 2025, below the 4.2 percent nonveteran rate, but unemployment is not the only measure that matters. Some of the issues that veterans face in the workforce is where they end up finding employment. A low jobless rate does not mean they have landed in the right career.

Do you need a college degree to use the CareerCircle job board?

No. CareerCircle is built for skills-based hiring, which means your certifications, credentials, and demonstrated skills often carry more weight than your degree status. STARs in our network get the same recruiter support and advocacy as anyone else, and we work with many employers who understand the power of hiring employees based on skills.
Remember, if you are missing a credential a role calls for, we can help you. CareerCircle members have access to free and discounted courses through partnerships with providers including IBM SkillsBuild and Grow with Google. Once you complete a certification or credential, you can add it to your CareerCircle profile.

How is CareerCircle different from a general job board?

Most job boards post open roles and leave you to apply on your own. CareerCircle does more than that. You get access to real recruiters, free and discounted training when a role calls for a credential you do not have yet, and jobs tagged for STARs so you can see which positions people without degrees are succeeding in.

How do you know if you should create a CareerCircle profile?

If any of these describe you, build your profile on CareerCircle now:

You have applied to more than 20 roles without a callback

Your skills come from service, training, or work experience rather than a degree

You are changing industries and are unsure how your experience translates

You have been passed over before anyone reviewed your work

You are a veteran, a transitioning service member, or an individual with a disability

You want free or discounted courses to build the credentials employers are asking for

You finished a certification or training program

You want a person in your corner, not just another application portal

How to find jobs that match your skills

There are two main ways to find jobs on our site, and we recommend using both of them. Manual searching allows you to browse all our jobs, using keywords, location, and skills. Job alerts keep things top of mind and allow you to see roles quickly after they are posted.

Search manually. Browse the CareerCircle jobs page and filter by title, skills, location, and more.

Set up job alerts. Get new matching roles sent to your inbox daily. Set up job alerts now.

Webinar Recap: Beyond Compliance: The Playbook for Building Disability-Inclusive Hiring Initiatives

According to June 2026 data from the U.S. Department of Labor, the labor force participation rate for working-age people with disabilities is 23.9 percent, compared to 67.7 percent for people without disabilities. The unemployment rate tells a similar story: 8.6 percent for people with disabilities versus 4.2 percent for people without.
Research continues to show that hiring professionals with disabilities strengthens teams and business outcomes, yet many employers simply do not know where to begin. The good news: skilled, job-ready candidates are out there, and reaching them comes down to intention and infrastructure.
From employer branding to interview processes, the right recruitment strategies make all the difference. Here are eight ways to connect with skilled job seekers with disabilities.

1. Incorporate Inclusive Employer Branding

Your reputation does more than attract customers. It attracts candidates. According to LinkedIn, 75 percent of job seekers research a company's reputation and employer brand before applying.
If you want professionals with disabilities to apply, your materials should show them they belong. That means visual representation of people with disabilities across your careers page and recruitment content, along with clear language stating that you are an inclusive employer.
Just as important: audit your job descriptions. Requirements like "must be able to lift 30 pounds" for a role that rarely involves lifting can turn away candidates who are fully qualified to do the actual work. List only what the job truly requires.

2. Pursue Passive Candidates Through Social Media

An estimated 75 percent of people who are not actively job searching would still consider the right offer. These passive candidates represent a significant pool of skilled talent, and social media is one of the most effective ways to reach them.
For professional recruiting, LinkedIn should be your primary channel. Use it to search for candidates by skills and certifications, build genuine relationships before a role opens, and share content that reflects your commitment to accessible, skills-based hiring. Follow and engage with disability-focused organizations on LinkedIn as well. Their networks are full of job-ready professionals, and your visibility in those communities builds trust over time.

3. Recruit Remotely

Technology has made it easier than ever to meet candidates where they are. Mobile-friendly applications, video interviews, and text-based scheduling all remove friction from the hiring process.
For some candidates with disabilities, video interviewing means they can interview from the location most accessible to them. Text-based communication supports applicants with speech or communication-related needs. The guiding principle is simple: offer multiple ways for candidates to connect with your recruiters, and let them choose what works best.

4. Host or Join Inclusive Hiring Events

Proactive employers do not wait for candidates to find them. Hosting or participating in accessible hiring events puts your team in direct conversation with skilled job seekers.
Some employers, like Microsoft, host their own inclusive job fairs where candidates can meet recruiters, explore opportunities, and sharpen job search skills. If building your own event is not realistic, partnering on an established one is a strong alternative. CareerCircle hosts accessible virtual career fairs throughout the year on a WCAG 2.2 AA-conformant platform, where employers connect one-on-one with pre-qualified candidates in real time and retain access to registered candidates' resumes for months after the event.

5. Connect with Community Organizations and University Disability Offices

The organizations closest to candidates with disabilities are your strongest allies. Local disability-focused nonprofits, workforce development organizations, and university disability services offices offer direct access to prepared, motivated candidates, and many also provide employer training resources.
Building these relationships one at a time takes real effort, which is why many employers work through an established network instead. CareerCircle partners with more than 200 community organizations, many focused on disability employment, including groups like Hire Autism, United Spinal Association, and National Industries for the Blind, so employers can reach these communities through a single relationship.

6. Highlight Accessible Features of the Job and Location

Today's candidates weigh more than salary and job duties. They want to know how you support the way they work.
Job seekers with disabilities often look for flexible hours, remote or hybrid options, proximity to public transportation, and workspaces that offer both collaborative and quiet areas. If your organization offers these, say so in your job postings. Naming these features up front signals that you have thought about accessibility before the candidate ever has to ask.

7. Educate All Staff

Inclusive hiring cannot live in HR alone. Executives, hiring managers, and team members all shape a candidate's experience and a new hire's success.
Effective training covers disability etiquette and, just as importantly, reasonable accommodations, because misconceptions about cost and complexity are one of the biggest gaps standing between intention and action. When your whole organization understands how to engage, evaluate, and support professionals with disabilities, retention follows. Structured programs like CareerCircle's InclusiveU, a SHRM-accredited training, can equip hiring teams with these practices.

8. Implement Inclusive Interview Practices

Every step of your hiring process should work for every candidate. Let applicants know accommodations are available on request, and make the request process easy. Confirm physical access to interview locations, offer virtual alternatives, and address any needs a candidate shares without hesitation.
Interviewers who have completed disability etiquette training walk into these conversations with confidence, and candidates can tell the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can employers find qualified candidates with disabilities?
The most effective channels are disability-focused community organizations, accessible virtual career fairs, university disability services offices, and talent platforms built for inclusive outreach. CareerCircle connects employers to a talent network of 225,000+ candidates, where 1 in 7 members have self-identified as individuals with disabilities.
What is an accessible virtual career fair?
An accessible virtual career fair is an online hiring event built to WCAG standards so all candidates can participate fully, including those using screen readers or other assistive technology. Employers host virtual booths, meet pre-qualified candidates one-on-one, and follow up with registered attendees after the event. You can view CareerCircle's upcoming events at careercircle.com/events.
Do federal contractors have specific requirements for disability outreach?
Yes. Under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, federal contractors must engage in documented outreach and positive recruitment of individuals with disabilities. Partnering with community organizations and hosting or attending accessible hiring events, with reporting to back it up, helps demonstrate consistent good-faith efforts before an audit ever arrives.
Are workplace accommodations expensive?
Most are not. Many accommodations, like flexible scheduling or text-based communication, cost nothing, and research from the Job Accommodation Network has consistently found that the majority of accommodations involve little to no cost. Training your team on the accommodations process removes one of the most common gaps in disability hiring.
