Job Title: Concrete Laborer
Job Description
Join a skilled foundation construction crew responsible for building heavy-capacity scale foundations. You will work hands-on with concrete, from excavation and grading through forming, rebar placement, pouring, and finishing, while operating a variety of power tools and equipment. You complete all tasks safely and efficiently, support and guide less experienced team members, and follow all required safety training under the direction of the job foreman. You provide your own transportation to the Fairbanks construction office and then travel with the crew in company vehicles to project sites.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a foundation construction crew to build heavy-capacity scale foundations from start to finish.
- Excavate and grade foundation areas to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Erect, align, and secure concrete forms to ensure accurate foundation shapes and dimensions.
- Set, place, and tie rebar according to project specifications and drawings.
- Assist with and perform concrete pours, ensuring proper placement, consolidation, and finishing.
- Finish concrete surfaces to the required texture and appearance, including slabs and other structural elements.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment safely and effectively during all phases of the work.
- Follow all safety procedures and complete required safety courses as directed by the job foreman.
- Support a safe worksite by identifying hazards, using appropriate personal protective equipment, and following established protocols.
- Travel with the crew to various project locations and adapt to changing jobsite conditions and schedules.
- Report to the Fairbanks construction office as required and maintain reliable transportation to and from this location.
- Collaborate with crew members to meet project deadlines and quality standards while maintaining a strong team-oriented environment.
Essential Skills
- Concrete experience that includes concrete finishing, setting forms, helping pour and finish concrete, and setting and tying rebar.
- Hands-on experience with concrete construction, including concrete pours and concrete slabs.
- Ability to set, align, and secure forms accurately for foundations and slabs.
- Proficiency in tying rebar and understanding basic reinforcement layout.
- Skill in finishing concrete to required specifications and surface quality.
- Ability to operate power tools and construction equipment safely on a jobsite.
- Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with a construction crew.
- Reliable transportation to the Fairbanks construction office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on project-based construction assignments in multiple locations.
- Comfort working a Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility to work some weekends when needed.
- Ability to follow directions from a foreman and complete required safety training.
- Willingness to travel frequently for work and stay in hotels near job sites.
- Strong work ethic and performance orientation, with openness to earning raises based on demonstrated effort and skill.

Work Environment

You will work outdoors in the heat and other weather conditions as part of a close-knit crew, performing physically demanding tasks throughout the day. Travel is a regular part of the role; you report to the Fairbanks construction office and then travel in company vehicles to job sites, with hotels provided near the work locations and a daily per diem to support you while on assignment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
