Job Description
This role involves operating cable manufacturing machinery in a fast-paced industrial environment. You will set up and run manual industrial equipment at required speeds, maintain specified tolerances, and ensure products meet quality standards through testing and inspection. The position also includes general departmental duties such as safety, housekeeping, documentation, and supporting other cable lines as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cable manufacturing machines safely and efficiently in accordance with production requirements.
- Maintain required tolerances and continuously monitor equipment performance during production runs.
- Perform cable testing and verify product quality following established procedures and standards.
- Follow production plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to meet production goals.
- Assist other cable lines and perform cross-functional tasks to support overall production operations.
- Complete general departmental tasks including housekeeping, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, job instructions, and equipment manuals to ensure accurate production.
- Use basic measurement tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect products visually and with measurement tools to identify defects or nonconformities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, or equipment concerns.
- Support troubleshooting activities on machinery to help resolve basic operational issues.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, as part of daily production activities.
- Experience operating industrial manual machinery in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform basic measurements and math to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, job instructions, and equipment manuals.
- Basic experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Comfort with labor-intensive work and heavy lifting in an industrial setting.
- Strong attention to detail for inspection, testing, and quality verification.
- Ability to use a tape measure and other basic inspection tools accurately.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Reliable work ethic and a positive attitude toward safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Previous experience in cable manufacturing or similar industrial production is beneficial.
- Experience performing product inspections and documenting results is an advantage.
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures and production documentation in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Willingness to work overtime, including optional weekend shifts, when needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility focused on cable production. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with optional overtime available on weekends. The environment is not temperature controlled, so conditions can be hot or cold depending on the weather. You will work around industrial machinery and equipment, performing hands-on, physically demanding tasks that may involve heavy lifting and extended periods of standing. Appropriate safety footwear and eye protection are required, and reimbursements for steel-toe shoes and safety glasses may be available once in a permanent role.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
