Job Description
We are seeking a skilled welder to set up and operate welding equipment and hand/power tools, perform SMAW and GMAW welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, and prepare materials by cleaning surfaces and removing contaminants. You will be responsible for laying out, fitting, aligning, and securing parts prior to welding, following blueprints, drawings, and work orders, and selecting proper torches, tips, filler rods, and flux for each job. Additionally, you will weld aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys, inspect welds and finished parts to ensure quality and correct dimensions, and monitor welding processes to prevent warping, distortion, or overheating.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate welding equipment and hand/power tools.
- Perform SMAW and GMAW welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Prepare materials by cleaning surfaces and removing contaminants.
- Lay out, fit, align, and secure parts prior to welding following blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Select proper torches, tips, filler rods, and flux for each job.
- Weld aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
- Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure quality and correct dimensions.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent warping, distortion, or overheating.
- Label and identify materials with job numbers or piece marks.
- Repair or rework parts by dismantling, straightening, and reassembling as needed.
- Identify faulty equipment or materials and report issues to supervisors.
- Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Perform general fabrication work to meet production specifications.
- Assist with other production tasks as assigned.
- Experience with Mig, SMAW, and GMAW welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiency with fabrication and welding techniques.
- Experience with FCAW, TIG, and flux core welding.
- Knowledge of tape measures, sheet metal, grinding, assembly, and welding equipment.
- 1+ year of weld school or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience in blueprint reading.

Work Environment
Work a 1st Shift schedule from 6am-4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with overtime on Fridays as needed. The environment is a large manufacturing setting, which can be dusty and dirty, but offers a family feel despite being part of a larger organization.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
