Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic performs routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, low-voltage electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, supporting equipment installations, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. The position also involves using and improving a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to optimize maintenance processes and minimize equipment downtime.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and maintain consistent production quality.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including problems with gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, cylinders, and chain-driven conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders and related components.
- Perform low-voltage (24V) electrical troubleshooting and repairs in accordance with safety procedures.
- Support the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in compliance with auditing standards.
- Navigate, maintain, and improve CMMS processes to document work orders, track maintenance history, and support continuous improvement.
- Perform welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and maintenance.
- Follow all established safety precautions and procedures while working on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing operations.
