Job Description
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and adjusting rolling production plans in alignment with the master production schedule and customer orders. Collaborate across supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams to establish work order priorities and sequences that enhance efficiency and meet customer delivery expectations. You will monitor production progress, address any delays or disruptions, optimize production capacity, labor, and equipment utilization, maintain accurate production planning data in the MRP system, and collaborate with the commercial team for expedited requests. Participation in NPI projects, measuring and acting on KPI performance, and identifying process improvement opportunities are also key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage rolling production plans.
- Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing to prioritize work orders.
- Monitor and address production progress and disruptions.
- Optimize production capacity, labor, and equipment utilization.
- Maintain accurate production planning data in the MRP system.
- Collaborate with the commercial team for expedite requests.
- Participate in NPI projects as needed.
- Measure and act on KPI performance.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
- 3-5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, such as NetSuite, and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) technology and supply chain logistics.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain is preferred.
The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 7 AM to 4 PM, offering a structured work environment. There is an opportunity to transition to a permanent role within the planning team.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.86 - $41.83/hr.
