Job Description
The Clean Room Assembler supports the production of medical devices by performing a variety of assembly, packaging, labeling, and kit-packing tasks in a clean room environment. This cross-trained role focuses on assembling containers used for surgical instruments, following detailed work instructions, blueprints, and work orders to ensure high-quality and accurate output. The position requires strong hand dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work at a high production speed while maintaining clean room standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble containers and related components used for surgical instruments according to blueprints, work orders, and written work instructions.
- Perform a variety of clean room tasks including assembly, packaging, labeling, and kit packing for medical device products and test tubes.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, nuts, bolts, and locking compounds to secure screws and assemble fixtures accurately and safely.
- Follow traveler documents to gather required parts from the warehouse and independently set up the work station at the start of each shift.
- Inspect assembled components and finished products visually and under a microscope as needed to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
- Box, label, and package final products in accordance with documented procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain clean room protocols, including proper gowning procedures and adherence to no-makeup requirements.
- Read, understand, and follow written work directions, production documentation, and quality instructions in English.
- Assist in the shipping department when needed, including preparing products for shipment and supporting related logistics tasks.
- Meet or exceed required production speeds while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety and clean room standards.
- Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient work area by following all workplace, clean room, and equipment guidelines.
- Ability to read and write in English to follow work directions, blueprints, and production documentation.
- Strong hand dexterity and fine motor skills for precise assembly of medical device components.
- Comfort using common hand tools such as screwdrivers, nuts, bolts, and related fasteners.
- Ability to understand and follow clean room protocols, including gowning procedures and no-makeup requirements.
- Capability to work at a high production speed while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Attention to detail for inspection of parts and finished products, including under a microscope when required.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks.
- Preferably 6+ months of manufacturing or assembly experience, or demonstrated aptitude as a sharp entry-level candidate.
- Previous experience in medical device assembly or clean room production is a plus.
- Familiarity with reading and working from blueprints, work orders, and travelers.
- Experience with inspection and quality checks in a production environment.
- Comfort working with microscopes and other inspection tools.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to be cross-trained across multiple tasks such as assembly, packaging, labeling, and kit packing.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean room environment dedicated to medical device production. You will follow strict clean room procedures, including gowning protocols and a no-makeup policy, to maintain product cleanliness and safety. Work involves both sitting and standing for extended periods, performing repetitive assembly and packaging tasks at a steady production pace. You will use common hand tools, microscopes, and standard production and packaging equipment while working from blueprints, work orders, and travelers. The environment is structured, process-driven, and quality-focused, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant workspace.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
