Job Title: Electrical Technician
Job Description
This is the advanced level and as such, it serves as a lead worker responsible for overseeing the work activities of other team members or is a Subject Matter Expert performing the most complex assignments. This role provides assistance in diagnosis and repair of equipment, working closely with lower-level technicians. Under the guidance of Engineering leadership, the lead team member may also be involved in the design, build, and validation of automated systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all machinery and equipment under the direction of the Engineering Manager, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
- Perform scheduled, preventive, and predictive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities
- Maintain, repair, and test equipment to ensure proper operation and production efficiency
- Analyze and document causes of production delays; initiate actions to resolve equipment issues
- Investigate defects and scrap, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, problem-solve, and reduce scrap and waste
- Accurately record all maintenance activities and issues in maintenance logs for each production line
- Immediately lock out/tag out any equipment that is unsafe or suspected to be unsafe
- Collaborate with team members to drive process improvements and support overall operational goals
- Train, mentor, and support Maintenance Technicians and junior team members in maintenance and troubleshooting
- Partner with management to maintain a consistent, reliable maintenance program
- Provide technical support to project teams and assist lower-level technicians as needed
- Support the design, build, debugging, and validation of new or modified automated manufacturing processes
- Provide input on equipment design to improve manufacturability and serviceability
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities to solve manufacturing and process issues
- Assist in creating and executing Engineering Validation Protocols, reports, and technical documentation
Essential Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Strong hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical assembly of machinery.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment issues, including PLC troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to record and track maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, repair, and test equipment to verify proper operation and production quality.
- Strong understanding of lockout procedures and safe work practices for industrial equipment.
- Ability to document maintenance issues, production delays, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
- Experience training, assisting, or leading other technicians in maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
- Effective collaboration skills to work closely with engineering, maintenance, and management teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
- Direct experience supporting medical manufacturing processes (preferred).
- Experience in a highly regulated or quality-focused manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Comfort working in a team-oriented environment with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
