Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate assembly processes and quality standards. You will collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret simple blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to verify assembly processes and quality requirements.
- Follow assembly procedures to build parts using hands and small machinery.
- Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
- Position, align, or adjust workpieces or parts to facilitate assembly.
- Clean parts using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
- Pack finished parts for shipment, including labeling, bagging, and adding instruction information.
- Examine products to verify quality, including Bonnet to Body Testing and ECL testing.
- Identify quality issues, determine causes, and rework parts as necessary.
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing, and packing.
- Proficiency with hand tools, light industrial equipment, and power tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
- Ability to perform inspections and ensure quality control.
- Forklift operation and general labor skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours a day and lift up to 45 pounds.

- Working knowledge of the English language, both oral and written.
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner.
- High attention to detail and strong vision and hearing.

Work Environment
This role is based in a standard production and warehouse environment that is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. Safety is a top priority, with clear standard operating procedures in place. Orientations occur every Monday from 7:15 am to 11:00 am, with the first shift running from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The facility requires steel-toed shoes, and safety vests, glasses, and ear plugs will be provided. Jewelry is not permitted, and shoulder-length hair must be tied back.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hickory, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
