Senior Accountant
Overview
The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Department across multiple finance functions, including corporate reporting, financial planning and analysis, taxation, and budgeting/forecasting. This role ensures accounting activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and that internal policies and controls are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries
- Perform and review general ledger reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Manage foreign currency transaction and translation entries
- Handle related-party accounting, including intercompany, intracompany, and investments in subsidiaries/joint ventures, along with eliminations
- Prepare and review entries related to cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts
- Support month-end close processes and assist in preparing internal financial statements and reporting packages
- Contribute to quarterly and annual external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and internal controls (including SOX compliance)
- Prepare internal reports and support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 4+ years of public accounting experience with an audit focus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control
- Experience with automated financial systems (e.g., ERP and consolidation tools such as JD Edwards and OneStream preferred)
- Knowledge of foreign currency accounting and multi-entity environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365
Work Environment & Additional Details
- Hybrid work environment (in-office 2–3 days per week)
- Primarily office-based role with extended periods of sitting and computer use
- Occasional travel (up to 5%)
- May require light physical activity (standing, walking, lifting, bending as needed)
