Hiring Robotic Assembly Technician - 1st shift $21/hr!!
Job Description
This role focuses on the mechanical and electrical assembly of advanced robotic production equipment and the cells and structures that house them. You will build, wire, and test components using detailed drawings and blueprints, contributing directly to the creation of custom robotic systems for a wide range of manufacturing applications. The position offers a steep learning curve, structured training, and clear opportunities to grow into more advanced automation responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of robotic production equipment, including the cells and apparatus in which the robots operate.
- Build mechanical structures such as cages and protective enclosures that are installed around robots and related equipment.
- Carry out electrical assembly tasks, including wiring and connecting components according to drawings and schematics.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work prints to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and pneumatic power tools, such as wrenches and socket wrenches, to assemble mechanical and electrical systems.
- Lift and move components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, coordinating team lifts for heavier items when needed.
- Perform basic motor testing and non-live wiring tasks as part of equipment build and verification processes.
- Follow established assembly procedures and quality standards to ensure safe, reliable, and consistent builds.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors, team leads, and coworkers during an extensive training period to learn complex systems and processes.
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment where daily tasks and projects vary, requiring flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely within a large workshop environment.
- Progress over time from primarily mechanical assembly responsibilities toward more advanced automation-related tasks, as skills and experience develop.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated background in mechanical or electrical assembly, such as mechanics, machine building, home remodeling, or similar hands-on work.
- Ability to read, understand, and use blueprints, drawings, and work prints to assemble mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including wrenches, socket wrenches, and pneumatic tools, for building machines or mechanical structures.
- Experience assembling machines, infrastructure, or other mechanical systems using both mechanical and electrical components.
- Basic understanding of electrical assembly and wiring practices, including working with non-live wiring.
- Comfort working with robotics-related equipment and components in a production or workshop environment.
- Willingness to read and work from blueprints and work prints throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and participate in team lifts for heavier components.
- Flexibility and comfort with a work environment where every day may involve different tasks and challenges.
- Patience and resilience to work through a steep learning curve, recognizing that full proficiency may take approximately six months.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An associate degree in automation or a related field is highly beneficial and provides a strong pathway for progression.
- Interest in progressing from mechanical assembly into automation responsibilities over time.
- Willingness to participate in internal education and certification programs in areas such as programming, maintenance, and welding.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when working from technical drawings and complex assemblies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, team leads, and peers during a structured training period of approximately six months.
- Motivation to build a long-term career in the robotics and automation field.
