The Traveling Superintendent oversees the planning and execution phase of concrete-focused commercial and industrial construction projects. This role works closely with the operational team to develop comprehensive project plans, prepare field teams for execution, and ensure project goals are met across a variety of project types, including data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, and parking garages.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage the execution phase for assigned portions of construction projects, with a focus on self-performed concrete work.
- Collaborate closely with the operational team to create an overall project plan that aligns with project objectives, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans for the specific phase of work under your responsibility, including sequencing, resource allocation, and coordination with other trades.
- Prepare and organize field teams to execute work using defined planning processes, ensuring crews understand scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Monitor project progress and ensure execution goals are met for your portion of the work, including safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets.
- Review and interpret project information such as drawings, specifications, and schedules, and communicate requirements clearly to the field team.
- Identify potential obstacles and opportunities within your phase of work and proactively recommend solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Coordinate concrete construction activities on commercial and industrial projects, including formwork, placement, finishing, and curing.
- Support effective communication between field operations and project management to resolve issues quickly and maintain alignment on project goals.
- Travel to various project sites as required, adapting to different project types such as data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, and parking garages.
- At least 4 years of experience working with a self-performing general contractor or concrete contractor.
- Proven self-perform concrete experience, including hands-on knowledge of concrete construction processes and best practices.
- Experience managing or supervising commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction, including planning, sequencing, and field coordination.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply project information such as drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and execute project plans for specific phases of work.
- Skill in preparing and leading teams using defined planning processes to achieve project goals.
- Ability to identify project obstacles and opportunities and implement practical solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to different project locations.
- Background in commercial construction, including data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, or parking garages.
- Experience working for large-scale concrete contractors or self-performing general contractors.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with operational teams and field crews.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple project phases and priorities.
- Interest in working on a wide range of project types across commercial and industrial sectors.
This is a traveling role based on active project sites, primarily within commercial and industrial construction environments that emphasize concrete work. You will spend most of your time on-site at projects such as data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, and parking garages, working closely with field crews and operational teams. The organization supports extensive travel by covering relocation costs, per diem, lodging, and all travel expenses as needed. The work environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient execution of self-performed concrete construction.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
