Payroll Specialist:
Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for verifying employee time and pay data, preparing payroll, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate employee records. The role supports both HR and Finance functions by safeguarding payroll integrity and contributing to overall financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Process and review employee payroll data, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions for accuracy.
- Verify and reconcile timekeeping records, ensuring alignment with company policies and labor regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll for processing using payroll systems (e.g., UKG).
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including pay variances, missing hours, or incorrect deductions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Manage payroll records, including digital filing and audit-ready documentation.
- Assist with payroll reporting, including earnings summaries, tax reports, and labor analysis.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and audits.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or related accounting functions.
- Proficiency in payroll systems, including UKG (or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and wage laws.
- Advanced data entry and Excel skills with high accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills for employee and cross-department interaction.
Work Environment:
This position is 100% onsite, working Monday through Friday with an 8-hour shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bryn Mawr, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
