1st Shift Maintenance Technician

Are you someone who enjoys fixing machines, solving problems, and keeping equipment running smoothly? We are looking for a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician to support our ice cream cone manufacturing facility. In this role, you will help maintain production equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure our operations run safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on ice cream cone production equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep machines running reliably.
- Operate cone production ovens and equipment when maintenance work is not needed.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting while following all safety procedures.
- Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs using basic computer systems.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Follow all company safety, food safety, and quality standards.
- Provide occasional after-hours support by phone or on-site when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience performing maintenance on machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues independently.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety practices.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role.
- Experience in food manufacturing or food production facilities.
- Familiarity with food safety standards.
- Exposure to PLC troubleshooting and controls.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
Work Environment
- Located in an ice cream cone manufacturing facility.
- Work around production machinery, ovens, and packaging equipment.
- Some areas can be warm due to oven operations, while others are cooler.
- Required PPE includes:
- Hair net
- Beard net (if applicable)
- Smock
- Safety glasses
- Other site-required protective equipment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
