Job Title: Electrical Assembler
Job Description
This role involves independently assembling, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic components, equipment, and related systems used in manufactured products and plant facilities. You will support both prototype and production builds, ensure high-quality workmanship, and help meet production schedules while consistently following established safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, dismantle, inspect, and test electrical and electronic components in accordance with engineering prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Assemble and complete printed circuit boards, panel wiring, and related electrical assemblies using engineering documentation and established procedures.
- Repair electrical and electronic equipment, including cleaning, evaluating, and reworking parts or equipment returned by customers.
- Perform functional testing on electrical and electronic equipment, including ground-fault testing, current draw testing, and other required checks to verify performance and safety.
- Carry out duties associated with the assembly, modification, and testing of prototype equipment to support new product development and continuous improvement.
- Operate material-handling equipment, machines, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively to complete assembly and repair tasks.
- Support production schedules by completing assigned work accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and documentation standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments, emphasizing teamwork, clear communication, and effective problem-solving.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and strictly adhere to company safety standards and procedures.
- Use troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues with electrical and electronic assemblies and systems.
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic assembly practices, including panel wiring, printed circuit boards, and complex electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and using complex electrical and electronic schematics, engineering prints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
- Ability to work accurately with color-coded cables, wiring, components, and related electrical materials.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and analytical abilities, including troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate material-handling equipment, machines, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Capability to complete electrical and electronic repairs, testing, and assembly work while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrical assembly in a manufacturing or machine-building environment.
- Hands-on experience with wiring, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools for electrical and mechanical builds.
- Background in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems in a production or service environment.
- Comfort working from detailed blueprints and build documentation to complete complex assemblies.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, well-lit manufacturing facility designed to support precision electrical and electronic assembly work. Standard hours are approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., following a schedule of four nine-hour days and a four-hour day on Fridays. You will regularly use material-handling equipment, machines, power tools, and hand tools to complete assembly, repair, and testing tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to documented procedures, providing a structured and professional setting for hands-on technical work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
