Job Description
The core mission of the Shop Hand is to support the fabrication, painting, and assembly of steel building structures in an industrial manufacturing atmosphere. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to learn a range of tasks necessary for each project scope, including material handling, fabrication work, assembly work, painting, and cleaning. The ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions is essential.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the Quality Assurance Program.
- Use hand and power tools to clean and prep steel.
- Handle materials efficiently and safely.
- Read and understand work orders and project task codes.
- Mix and prepare paint coatings following proper procedures.
- Apply paints and coatings according to procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
- Accurately record quality data on cleaning and coating reports.
- Clean and maintain the factory work areas and bathrooms.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree.
- 2+ years of experience with general trade skills for siding, roofing, metalworking, or assembly.
- Ability to select and operate the proper tools for tasks.
- Skillful operation of non-specialized shop equipment.
- Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th inch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
