Job Title: Flight Controls EngineerJob DescriptionJoin a dynamic team to design and develop flight control systems, contributing to advanced aerospace projects with a focus on safety-critical software and hardware solutions.Responsibilities<ul><li>Design, develop, and analyze flight control laws such as attitude, rate, velocity, and guidance-level control.</li><li>Create and maintain MATLAB/Simulink models for control law development and simulation.</li><li>Support model-based development (MBD) workflows, including requirements traceability and verification.</li><li>Integrate and test control algorithms within ROS 2-based software frameworks.</li><li>Contribute to path planning and trajectory generation logic, ensuring compatibility with control architectures.</li><li>Perform simulation-based validation (SIL/MIL) and support real-time or hardware-adjacent testing as needed.</li><li>Collaborate with autonomy, navigation, and software teams to ensure control performance and system stability.</li><li>Document control designs, assumptions, test results, and analysis to support program needs.</li></ul>Essential Skills<ul><li>At least 3 years of hands-on experience designing or implementing flight control laws for aerospace systems.</li><li>Strong proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for control law modeling and simulation.</li><li>Working knowledge of ROS 2 in a robotics, autonomy, or flight-control-adjacent context.</li><li>Professional exposure to path planning or trajectory generation concepts and how they interface with control systems.</li><li>Solid understanding of aircraft dynamics and control theory, including classical and modern control methods.</li><li>Experience validating control algorithms in simulation environments.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.</li><li>Experience with ROS 2 control frameworks, real-time considerations, or distributed systems.</li><li>Knowledge of aerospace development standards such as DO-178 and ARP4761.</li><li>Programming experience in C++ or Python for control or simulation support.</li></ul>Job Type &amp; LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
