Description The Project Engineer supports the Senior Electrical Engineer in coordinating, organizing, and executing project-specific engineering tasks for autonomous surface vessel programs. This role provides day-to-day assistance with planning, scheduling, documentation, system integration, and communication across internal and external stakeholders. Description Position Summary: This position will support the DISA GSM-O II Task Number 22 (TN22) DISA Global Field Command. Must be able to report audit findings to all levels of management and communicate problem areas.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.</li><li>Apply understanding of CMMI requirements across the collaborative network.</li><li>Manage multiple audit schedules unique to each program and organization for up to 3 years per program.</li><li>Conduct and participate in root cause and corrective action discussions to ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions.</li><li>Serve/host an external audit for both a second party (customer) and third party (certifying body).</li><li>Ability to walk programs through requirements of each process to properly align the program with the QMS/processes.</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure a comprehensive understanding of quality process requirements.</li><li>Establish and foster a quality culture dedicated to excellence and Leidos values.</li><li>Plan and oversee quality audit activities for Defense Sector programs and facilities to ensure higher program performance at the enterprise level.</li><li>Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and corporate requirements through sector-wide audits.</li><li>Facilitate the implementation of practices compliant with AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI-DEV, CMMI-SVC.</li><li>Ensure that the Defense Sector maintains an effective quality management system, by reporting on audit metrics that affect the enterprise.</li><li>Conduct independent audits, ensuring compliance and fostering continual improvement.</li><li>Ensure resolution of internal and external audit findings promptly through root cause analysis and corrective measures.</li><li>Address escalated quality issues in a timely manner.</li><li>Conduct trend analysis at sector and program levels, implementing measures for enterprise maturation.</li><li>Perform deep dives to analyze program issues, facilitating containment and lessons learned.</li><li>Review contract deliverables for conformance with requirements and quality standards.</li><li>Lead structured improvement activities for continual enhancement at sector and program levels.</li><li>Participate in formal post-award reviews, mitigate risks, and ensure product and service quality.</li><li>Lead integration of acquired organizations for quality management system compliance and process alignment.</li><li>Communicate effectively with technical and management staff at all organizational levels, including senior management.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Candidate must have a bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant work experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience will be considered. Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and expertise in navigating the structure of Quality Management Systems (QMS).</li><li>Must have worked in an environment where the candidate participated in auditing of requirements.</li><li>Must be able to read and interpret procedures, work instructions, drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications.</li><li>Must be able to work full-time, 5-days per week, 8-hours per shift.</li><li>Must be able to accommodate overtime as needed.</li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.</li><li>Some travel is required, typically no more than 10 percent.</li><li>Knowledge of contract requirements and DFARs etc.</li><li>Must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office as well as Business Intelligence (BI) tools.</li><li>Candidate must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a final Top Secret security clearance.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and auditing experience of Government and industry regulations such as FARs, DFARS, MIL-STDs, IPC, SAE, ASTM, and others preferred.<ul><li>Knowledge/understanding of special processes (NDE, Welding, Painting, etc.)</li><li>Demonstrated experience in evaluating suppliers' quality processes and procedures is also preferred.</li><li>Ability and knowledge to participate in a CMMI appraisal as a team member.</li><li>Software Quality & Software Auditing experience is a benefit.</li></ul>If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
