What will you do in this role?<ul><li>Work primarily on Linux based systems to design, build, integrate, harden, deploy, and maintain bare metal and virtual clients, servers, and networked systems. </li><li>Develop solutions to complex technical issues that impact multiple IT disciplines.</li><li>Effectively use automated hardening and scanning tools such as Ansible and Nessus.</li><li>Perform system analysis for purposes of performance optimization, catastrophe mitigation, and security compliance.</li><li>Collaborate with software developers to ensure systems meet functional requirements.</li><li>Support IT security activities to include security compliance reviews and auditing requirements.</li><li>Perform software configuration management using software development repositories. </li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Technical field and at least 8 years of relevant work experience, or a master's with at least 6 years of experience; equivalent years' or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.</li><li>Active DoD SECRET clearance is required for consideration.</li><li>Possess a current security+ 8570 certification</li><li>Experience administering Linux Operating systems, Networking/Switch, and Virtualized Machines </li><li>Ability to create Linux and scripts to automate repetitive tasks. </li><li>Experience implementing NIST 800-53 control families.</li><li>Experience with core infrastructure services administration such as AD, DNS, DHCP, and File Server administration. </li><li>Experienced in deploying Operating System images in a variety of mediums (PXE-network, disk image, automated installation media with answer scripts).</li><li>Ability to collaborate within a team and independently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Perform research necessary to resolve complex technical problems</li><li>Administer Windows Operating systems</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experienced in Python software development.</li><li>Experienced in building and deploying DevSecOps systems. </li><li>Experienced in deploying Multifactorial Authentication Systems.</li></ul>Original Posting: April 23, 2025 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. Your greatest work is ahead! Leidos is seeking a Load Balance Network Engineer SME to maintain a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role requires implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies in a global enterprise across multiple networks. Duties include updating to new technologies, tuning performance, and implementation of critical system patches. This infrastructure may include on-premises and cloud resources. You can make an impact and have time for your well-being.</li><li>Leidos offers many opportunities for career development and advancement.</li><li>Learn more about the benefits we offer: https://www.leidos.com/careers/pay-benefits.</li></ul> Primary Tasks <ul><li>Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance is operational at all times</li><li>Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies</li><li>Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary</li><li>Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces</li><li>Develop and implement technical solutions in partnership with engineers and architects</li><li>Provide after-hours support to 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages</li><li>Develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures and other documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with initial troubleshooting and triage efforts</li><li>Basic Qualifications</li><li>Experienced in administering and managing F5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment</li><li>Knowledge of standards, concepts, and tools to be able to complete technology monitoring and management of F5 appliances.</li><li>Technical knowledge backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations.</li><li>Expertise creating, managing, and troubleshooting load balanced IP address spaces. </li><li>Experience working independently in support of customer requirements</li><li>Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions</li><li>Familiar with IT Service Management products such as ServiceNow</li></ul> Certifications <ul><li>Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) - IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher)</li><li>Candidate must possess an F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher certification</li></ul> Education <ul><li>Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 10 years of experience</li><li>Education equivalency of Associate's with 14 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 16 years of related experience can be used in lieu of Bachelor's degree.</li></ul> Security Clearance <ul><li>Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.</li><li>TS/SCI with Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph.</li></ul>ISEO Original Posting: January 30, 2025 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.
