The position offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in luxury residential design and gain comprehensive exposure to the full architectural process within a well-established firm.Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage renovation projects for high-end single-family apartments and townhouses in New York City from concept through construction administration.</li><li>Lead and contribute to design efforts, including concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction administration for high-end residential projects.</li><li>Develop complete and accurate construction document (CD) sets using AutoCAD, ensuring alignment with design intent and building codes.</li><li>Prepare detailed construction drawings and documentation to support bidding, permitting, and construction phases.</li><li>Attend client meetings and site visits to understand project requirements, present design concepts, and address design and construction issues.</li><li>Coordinate and communicate regularly with the project manager and principal to align on project goals, schedules, and deliverables.</li><li>Collaborate with interiors and other project stakeholders to ensure cohesive, high-quality residential design solutions.</li><li>Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assisting with punch lists and site observations.</li><li>Ensure that all project work meets high standards of design quality and reflects the expectations of a high-end residential clientele.</li></ul>Essential Skills<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of professional architectural experience, preferably with a focus on high-end residential projects.</li><li>Proven experience working on high-end residential renovations, including single-family apartments and townhouses.</li><li>Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for creating construction documents, construction drawings, and detailed CD sets.</li><li>Hands-on experience with concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage renovation projects from early design through construction administration.</li><li>Client-facing experience with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly and professionally.</li><li>Background in architectural design for high-end residential interiors and renovations.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in preparing construction documentation and coordinating project information.</li></ul>Additional Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in high-end residential interiors and renovation work.</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, principals, and interiors team members.</li><li>Strong communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and coordination with project stakeholders.</li><li>Comfort working across all phases of a project, from early design through construction administration.</li><li>Interest in working with high-end clientele and maintaining a high standard of design and service.</li></ul>Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an office in New York City, with a hybrid schedule of in-office work from Monday through Thursday and work-from-home on Friday. You will work in a studio environment that uses AutoCAD as a primary production tool and focuses on high-end residential projects, including single-family apartments and townhouses. The firm has been well established for over 30 years and offers exposure to all phases of the architectural process while collaborating with a high-end clientele.
